An official decision was made to create state radio broadcasting in Kazakhstan. In October of the same year, regular broadcasts began from Orenburg, which at that time was the capital of the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. The launch of the Orenburg radio station laid the technical and organizational basis for the formation of a single information space of the republic.

March 23, 1927 became a significant date in the history of domestic communications: a speech in the Kazakh language was first broadcast on the Kazakh radio. This event was fundamental to the development of national broadcasting, making radio an accessible and understandable tool for informing and educating the indigenous population of the republic.

March 8, 1958 marked the beginning of a new era in the media sphere of the republic: the first test program of the Alma-Ata television studio was broadcast. This technical launch was the starting point for the formation of the television broadcasting infrastructure and marked the beginning of the transition to regular television broadcasts in Kazakhstan.

On June 1, 1984, the official commissioning of a unique high-rise structure took place - a TV tower on Mount Koktobe in Alma-Ata. The facility has become a key link in the republic's television and radio broadcasting system, providing a significant expansion of the coverage radius and signal quality. The tower is the second tallest free-standing structure in Kazakhstan. At the time of launch, it ranked 9th in the world in height (371.5 meters), and today it retains 41st position in the world ranking of TV towers.

On October 7, 1997, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republican State State Enterprise of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Radio Communication "Qazteleradio" was formed. This decision secured the status of an independent structure for the organization and determined its role as a single operator in the field of broadcasting television and radio programs at the state level.

In 2010, the national digital satellite broadcasting network was launched under the OTAU TV brand. The transition to the modern DVB-S2 standard was a strategic step in eliminating information inequality in the country. This made it possible to provide the population, including residents of the most remote and inaccessible rural areas, with a high-quality digital signal and access to an expanded package of domestic TV channels.

On January 31, 2011, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 48, a strategic reorganization of Qazteleradio JSC was carried out. Kazakhstan Telecommunications JSC (Katelco) was joined to the company. The combination of the resources of the two largest operators made it possible to consolidate the infrastructure of satellite and terrestrial broadcasting, creating a powerful technological base for the further implementation of digital communication standards in the country.

Within the framework of the Industrialization Day, the national network of digital terrestrial television was officially launched in the Media Center of Astana with the participation of the Head of State. The introduction of the progressive broadcasting standard DVB-T2 and the large-scale reconstruction of radio and television transmission stations throughout the country made it possible to move to a qualitatively new level of broadcasting. This provided the possibility of multi-program broadcasting and free access of the population to a package of digital channels with high image clarity.

Within the framework of the Industrial Forum in Astana, with the participation of the Head of State, the official launch of a new technological project - Kazakhstan Internet television "Galam TV" took place. The implementation of this platform was a logical stage in the evolution of national broadcasting, allowing users to access domestic content via the Internet on various devices. At the same time, the company continued the planned introduction of the DVB-T2 digital standard and the deep reconstruction of radio and television transmission stations, expanding the coverage of multi-program digital broadcasting throughout the country.
